![]() ![]() Our narrator, Todd Hewitt, is a first generation settler on New World. The genius of this story lies in its language. And now, after about 12 months of making my way through my TBR list, I am finally getting to Chaos Walking. I finally got the last one a few weeks ago. (A bit of a perfectionist with my books, I am). Only, I had to chase each of the books for ages, trying to get the same covers. So when I realised that Ness had written a trilogy, I had to buy it. And was completely blown away by the complexity and genius of the story. I read More Than Thislast year after being chased by the book through every book shop I went into. My Alpha authors are Neil Gaiman and Cassandra Clare.īut then there are the Beta the authors that are just as amazing but that maybe you haven’t known for as long, or haven’t read as much of as you have of the Alpha authors. The only person who doesn’t go to the after game parties at the coach’s house is Beth. Soon the entire team fall under the spell of their young, beautiful coach. This all changes when they get a new cheerleading coach who makes the team work like they never have before. Beth is captain of the cheerleading squad and Addy has always been her loyal lieutenant. The friendship at the center of the book is between Beth and Addy. Pretty Little Liars, Big Little Lies and GLOW have all recently showed how powerful female friendships can be.ĭare Me is completely different as it looks at what happens when female friendships become toxic. While this narrative is still around– most recently evident when comparing Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle–audiences in general prefer seeing a more supportive storyline. ![]() For many years a popular trope in entertainment was to pit women against each other (mainly when it came to competing for men).
